THE PRINCESS CHARLENE OF MONACO FOUNDATION
“My Foundation is about children who can become great adults, if we collectively show them the way forward with strong sport values and solidarity.“– Her Serene Highness, Princess Charlene of Monaco.
Saving young lives through the power of sport: this is the incredible work that the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation has undertaken. As a talented athlete with a passion for transforming the lives of children across the world, Princess Charlene created the Foundation with the vision of ending death and disability caused by drowning.
The Foundation has touched the lives of thousands of people in diverse countries across Africa, Asia and Europe, not only by promoting water safety but by creating a platform that uplifts children through the positive values that sport embodies.
The Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation helps youth from all backgrounds to face a brighter future through health.

A WORD FROM OUR CHAIRMAN
Francois Pienaar – Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation South Africa Chairman & Ambassador
Sport has made an exceptional difference to my life and I have rooted myself in the belief that sport can empower the lives of many. Princess Charlene shares this conviction, which is why I believe that through the foundation we can make a tangible difference to the lives of children in South Africa and all over the world. As Chairman and ambassador of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation South Africa, I will do everything in my power to make South Africans aware of this worthy initiative. Being able to swim and knowing how to administer CPR are vital skills that everyone should have. I share Princess Charlene’s passion for the promotion of water safety and teaching people the basic skills of swimming and CPR. It is an honour to serve the PCMFSA. Read More
A WORD FROM OUR CEO
Ryk Neethling – Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation South Africa CEO & Ambassador
It is an honour and a privilege to fulfil the role as CEO for the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation. HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco is a former team mate that I swam with for over a decade and our shared passion for the awareness of water safety is one close to my heart. A near-drowning incident as a young boy growing up in Bloemfontein, South Africa, steered my life in a direction I could never have imagined. Water safety classes led to swimming lessons that eventually resulted in me winning a gold medal at the Olympic Games. I have been actively involved in promoting water safety and the importance of swimming as a life skill for the last 20 years. There is a great deal of work to be done to achieve the Foundation’s goals off eradicating drowning but with the support of HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco, sponsors, partners and my fellow board members we will do our best to achieve it.
